Finally, Kartini Expedition Successfully Going To Malaysia!



KUCHING - Finally, the first stage of the expedition Women Across Borneo after too. The participants arrived safely in the city of Kuching, Malaysia.

After five days of cycling a distance of more than 400 kilometers from Pontianak, West Kalimantan, finally Women Across Borneo expedition participants arrived in Kuching, Malaysia. With this, the cycling stage finishes and will proceed with the next stage, namely caving and trekking on Mount Kinabalu, Sabah.

"It was nice, after five days we finally arrived. Did I expect to pass through this distance," said Colorful, one of the participants.

The tough women departed from Entikong, Indonesia Malaysia border, at 07.00 pm on Friday, April 12, 2013. They arrived in Kuching at 21.00 local time.

Their journey today marred by incidents of collapse of one of the participants. "That Lilis, one participant fainted after we passed Serinai, approximately 30 kilometers further to Kuching," said Samantha, the other participants.

Lilis fainted because of dehydration and overheating. Indeed, the path participants these days are much more difficult than the previous track in Borneo.

"Today sweltering heat did not stop, in contrast to the conditions in Kalimantan hot in the daytime, but cool in the afternoon arrived. Was made ​​one of the participants finally fallen," said Samantha.

Even so, the spirit of the other participants is not extinguished even though a friend of his had to be evacuated to the first Kuching. The proof, they managed to complete the trip, cycling to Kuching.

This morning, participants will do a city tour by bike along the Sarawak Tourism Board. Furthermore, they will prepare themselves for caving and trekking activities in the following days to a peak on Kartini Day, 21 April 2013.
